We partner with several vendors for both our plants and pots to ensure we have a wide selection available for your home. Our plants are all sourced from respected local nurseries, never big box hardware stores. We love Earth Planters for their water-retention system, and pots by Crescent Garden, Tierra Verde, and Veradek.

We advise most people to avoid incorporating petunias into their container gardens or other garden beds. Petunias tend to harbor insects, which then require the careful application of chemicals to eliminate. However, we will incorporate petunias in pots and gardens that we regularly maintain because we can trim and fertilize on schedule and treat those individual spaces with extra care.
You’ve come to the right place because this is our specialty. We begin taking reservations for services in January. Starting in early spring, we’ll begin planning your container garden, then “installing” them at your home or business. We’ll ensure you have blooms during spring and all of summer, then swap out to hardy autumnal designs by mid-September. During the winter, we’ll build out your pot with plantings and decor add-ons that will last until the following March. The result is an entire calendar year of beauty to flank your driveway, adorn your porch, and deck out front doorscapes.
Outside By Design is your local expert in horticulture, specializing in plant care, health, and garden maintenance. Unfortunately, we do not design or install hardscaping of any kind. However, we are happy to work with an installation crew as we plan out your plant placements for your fine floral garden.
Water at the base of the plants, going low and slow rather than quickly soaking the soil. Never spray water on top of your plants, which can cause fungal growth.
Water in the morning or evening, although morning is preferred, so the plant has time to dry. A plant that is too wet is susceptible to fungus, invasive insects, and rot.
