Owner, Outside by Design
Jennifer Jimerson earned bachelor’s degrees in animal science and horticulture. She originally resisted the horticultural side of her education, but as life progressed, she was seemingly led back to it.
After working in the landscape industry in Kansas City over the years, Jennifer observed that many area landscape companies are led by individuals who don’t know plants and their proper applications. Passionate about horticulture and Kansas City, she noted the opportunity to start her own company and provide a service creating meaningful, lasting outdoor spaces, guided byu informed decision-making on plantings and garden design.
With a few life experiences under her belt, including the death of her beloved husband, Jennifer cultivated her love of horticulture as a form of therapy and created a business out of it.
Her container gardening and fine garden design services take her clients on healing journeys while eschewing the status quo when it comes to plant combinations and styles.
